After I searched on Reddit with the search term: Hearts of Iron 4 mod,
this board came up.

There is not much info out there (yet) on how to mod HoI4.
Since I'm new to this whole modding thing(I do have some knowledge about C#), it is a real struggle to bring my idea's in reality.

My idea:

I saw a mod that provided the German Tanks, planes and equipment with pictures, instead of the black figures you normally see in their respective research trees.
I want to do the same, but for the UK.

Reality:
Downloaded Notepad++ and managed to open my .mod file, which i created in the HoI4 launcher.

That's about it.

I really hope that any of you can help me get started on this.

I really like this board, dedicated to HoI4 modding.

Okay, so the basics are this:
Everything is open. You can edit everything.
Your mod should imitate the base-game's file structure.
If you add a file with the same name as one that exists, it will overwite.
If you add a file with a different name, it will automatically add it when the mod is on.
The best documentation is the base game. Dig around in it's files and learn how they did things.

For your mod I'd place the new graphics under "gfx\interface\technologies"
In order to get the technologies to use your new files, you copy "interface\Technologies.gfx" and change what things point to.
